News Network Report — Recently, Associate Professor Wang Cheng, in collaboration with Professor Dong Bin, Professor Li Yufeng from Nanjing Normal University, and Associate Research Fellow Duan Houlang from the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, has published a series of research findings in fields including "the impact of coastal land reclamation and development on rare wild animals" and "the construction and management of ecological networks in inland large river basins". The relevant findings were published in Geographical Research (Issue 10, 2025) and Scientia Geographica Sinica (Issue 9, 2025), both of which are core CSSCI academic journals in geography.Based on the theories of geographical spatio-temporal element heterogeneity and ecological species niche, the series of studies constructs a framework for biodiversity conservation and management under the background of sustainable land use patterns in coastal and riverside areas, providing technical and policy references for the management of human activities around world natural heritage sites, as well as for watershed ecological restoration and sustainable development.
